levels of organization
Organism: An individual animal, plant, or single-celled life form.
Population: A particular section, group, or type of organisms living in an area or region.
Community: A group of organisms living in the same place or having a particular characteristic or goal in common.
Ecosystem: A biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment or habitat.

Ecosystem: A biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment or habitat.
In Ecology, the levels of organization refer to:
Biosphere - This is where all life on Earth lives. Biome - A large community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat. Ecosystem - A biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment. Community - All the organisms living in a particular area or place. Population - A particular section, group, or type of people or animals living in an area or region. Individual - A lone organism. These are the six levels, and in order to remember them (in order, forward or backward) remember the acronym:
IPCEBB or BBECPI |
Example:
Think about how your school is organized. Students and teachers are divided into individual classes. These classes are divided into buildings. These buildings make up your school. Your school and nearby schools make up a school district. Like your school is organized, so are ecosystems.
Individual: A single cheetah
Population: A heard of deer
Community: A tropical ocean community
Ecosystem: A coral Reef
Biome: A temperate Forest
Biosphere: The portion of Earth that is capable of supporting life

Often, the Individual level may also be referred to as the Organism level.
To remember Organism through Ecosystem, remember OPCE, or Old People Come Early.

extras:
Habitat: The place where an organism naturally lives
and grows.
Species: A group of organisms that look like each other and are able to breed among themselves with mates.
Interdependent: Two organisms that are dependent on each other for survival.
